Counselling
A Space for You

My approach to counselling is person-centred, compassionate and holistic, placing you and your individual experience at the heart of our work together. I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, relationships and experiences at your own pace. I believe that you are the expert on your own life and that, with the right therapeutic relationship and support, you can develop greater self-awareness, understanding and acceptance, enabling meaningful and lasting change. While my practice is grounded in person-centred counselling, I work integratively and dynamically, drawing on my wider therapeutic knowledge and experience where appropriate and always tailoring our work to your individual needs.

Therapy Designed Around You

Above all, you remain at the centre of the therapy. My breadth of training gives me different ways of understanding and responding to psychological and emotional difficulties, but these approaches are tools rather than a predetermined programme.

Our work can therefore be predominantly person-centred and exploratory, more structured and goal-focused, incorporate hypnotherapy or mindfulness, or develop dynamically as your needs change. The aim is to create a therapeutic relationship in which you feel heard and understood while supporting greater self-awareness, acceptance, choice and meaningful change. As a psychotherapist, I can support you with a variety of therapeutic approaches to help you cope with stress and promote your mental well-being.

Person-Centred Counselling

At the heart of my practice is a person-centred approach, which recognises that you are the expert on your own life and experience. Rather than telling you what you should do or directing you towards a predetermined solution, I provide a safe, accepting and non-judgemental space where you can explore what is happening for you at your own pace.

The therapeutic relationship is central to this approach. Through empathy, acceptance, authenticity and genuine human connection, I aim to create an environment in which you feel heard, understood and able to be yourself. This can help you develop greater awareness of your thoughts, feelings, needs and patterns, including experiences that may previously have been difficult to understand or express.

I believe that each person has the potential for growth, self-understanding and positive change. Therapy can help you reconnect with your own inner resources, develop greater self-acceptance and confidence, and discover choices and ways forward that are meaningful to you.

Although I can draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches, person-centred values remain at the foundation of my work. Any additional approaches or techniques are considered collaboratively and are there to support your individual therapeutic journey, rather than fitting you into a particular model of therapy.
